little grebe
I have been having a lot of fun lately getting very near to one or two subjects that have eluded me for a long time. This little guy came so close that I couldn't focus on him for quite a while and hardly dare breathe until he dived.

40D 500/4.5
iso 250; 1/50; f8
full frame.

C&C much appreciated.

Hi Eric,
Congratulations on getting your bird in the end and a fine shot it is too.

Very nice indeed.
Reflection chopped but that's the prob with low angles.
Great stuff.

Great POV and the water droplets add to the image. Your patience has been well rewarded with this image.

Hi Eric, focus, clarity & sharpness spot on. The water droplets are the icing IMHO, very nice.

Cropping the reflection, no great deal, but might think about a 'pano' crop to lose some of the distracting bits above, might work? Onto the next one on the list now

Wow, fabulous shot. Hard birds to get close to so we don't normally see them with such great detail and colour.

Super shot, which looks very sharp, and I like the colours and tones in the water. Ideally, would like to see the Grebe a bit higher in the frame, with the reflection visible.

A lovely shot Eric the muted colours really suit the subject :toast:

Not too keen on the sticks in the background and there are a few white specs to the right of the bird in the water.
