I've been going through my backlog of images that still need processed, archived, etc and found this one. I can't wait for the green to show up and start doing some hiking again! I have a horrible case of spring fever now!
I like the way the trail meanders through the frame. Bright fresh colors and you even got some nice clouds. The only thing I'd suggest is a slight crop from the bottom to eliminate those clipped flowers. I hear you about spring fever - I'm tired of being cooped up and am looking forward to the GREEN.

Great leading line. Nice colors.
I might consider cropping out about half the sky.

Ahh good 'ol Konza, doesn't get any better when it comes to the Flint Hills and prairies. Ground plum will be showing up any day now. Last year my first sighting was in March a week after a burn.
Thanks for kicking my spring fever up a notch!

Beautiful Scott, I agree with Angela's suggestion to crop of the bottom drooping flowers

My thoughts echo what's been said. Nice one

Very pretty Scott. How far from I-70 is this location? I hope to be coming up this way in May. Will there be any flowers to photograph then?
Thanks everyone! I'm going to play around with some different crops and maybe make some prints of this tonight.
Larry: Part of Konza actually runs along I-70. The parking lot for the hiking trail is maybe 10-15 min from I-70. The wildflowers on Konza normally have their main peak in June-July with a second smaller peak in the fall. The early spring flowers seem to vary a lot, last year it was hard to find a flower in early spring it seemed like. Brad could probably add a lot more detail about the wildflowers on Konza than I can though.
Do you know what part of May you might be down?

Scott, that gives me spring fever too! I guess it wont be too long now. I saw some grass being burned last week down by Fredonia.
Is that up by the radio tower? I love the rich greens and the coneflowers hanging over the path. I agree though that I would crop or clone out the flowers at the bottom, but leave the sky. Those clouds are what of makes it a great summer image.
Nice! Makes you want to be there and walk the trail up to that ridge. The leading line of the trail is hard to top! Regarding suggestions to crop, I can't see how you could do that and maintain the balance of this shot, which seems just right. Thanks for sharing.
