We need your help with CANP's upcoming new 'Resources' page.
The purpose of the page is to provide information and/or links to information that will be useful for nature photographers as
a whole, and to California nature photographers in particular.
So, we need a few Links, and Tips and Tricks to get started.
If you have a tip or a trick using your equipment, or a procedure in Photo Shop, or other software you would like to pass on, Here is what I would like to do...
To submit your tip, trick, or link, please include the following in an e-mail message to Preston Birdwell...
__Please be sure to introduce the topic.
__Next, include all steps in the procedure, and number them.
Example of a Tip/Trick:
Using LAB Color and Lightness Channel in Photo Shop for Sharpening for Print:
1. Open you image in Photo Shop
2. Flatten the image by choosing Layer>Flatten
3. Next, go to Image>Mode and select LAB
4. Create a copy of the background layer by choosing Layer>Layer via Copy
5. In the Layers pallet, and with your new layer active, select Channels>Lightness (your image will look faded and monotone)
6. Next, go to Filter>Unsharp Mask
7. Set the Radius at 1 px, Amount to 80, and Threshold to 4. Click OK
8. To apply more USM, use Ctrl+F. Repeat as necessary to achieve the desired sharpness
9. Flatten the image
10. Go back to Image>Mode and select RGB
11. Make a proof print to assess your sharpening and color.
-We will give credit for tips and tricks, so please include your name so that we have someone to blame if it doesn't work.
__If you are providing a link to information, please include the title of the site, page, or article and the full URL (web address) to the information you would like others to view.

Please do not post links, tips or tricks to this thread. You may indicate that you have made a submission, however.
Our 'Resources' page will be of great benefit to all and will continue to grow with your help.
If you have any questions, please post them to this thread.
Many thanks in advance for your submissions!

If you have questions, please post them here.
Thanks, everyone!

I'm sure you already have this, but you can cover multitudes of tips by simply linking to Tony Kuyper's tutorials page. www.goodlight.us
Wish I had other stuff ready to go for you, but alas, I don't.
Lon
Any more out there?
