I photographed these images in the spring of 2009
in the foothills east of Sonora. I'm interested in
knowing whether you prefer the vertical or the
horizontal. Your comments/critiques are always
welcome.
Robert, both look very nice. I think many wall hangers get processed as verticals, but I almost always lean toward horizontals. I would say this is a hard choice if trying to emphasize the "long and winding road" effect, then the vertical probably works better with that aspect. The contrasting colors are super.
Personally I like the vertical because of the road. Since I am in Columbia I'm curious just where you found this road. My initial reaction to both images is the degree of saturation. Mmmmmmm.

I agree with you, Dan. I over saturated. I erred in my directions The area is
west of Sonora. Off of State Route 108 I took O'Byrnes Road. I immediately
turned from there on to New Peoria Rd. I followed it to its end. Not seeing
any "no trespassing" signs, I opened a gate and hiked to the top of a hill/mountain,
where I saw the scenic with the twisting road. The road is near "The New Melones
Lake". I hope that this helps.

Looks like someone spilled yellow paint, I like how the road is barely a road.
