Spring has sprung
Spring seems to finally be here and it is early this year. This is a shot of my spring benchmark the popular Skunk Cabbage shot along the Red Cedar Trail. In looking back at past years this is the earliest I’ve been able to capture the Skunk Cabbage.

We had over a week of warm foggy weather and when it cleared this weekend winter was gone and spring had arrived. In addition to the skunk cabbage I shot a couple of Cow Parsnips peaking out. The Eagles are on the nest along the trail. The birds of spring have also arrived at the Gilbert Creek Wildlife area. On Sunday there were quite a few Geese, a few ducks, three mature Eagles and lots of Red-winged Blackbirds

Comments are appreciated.

Always happy to see these guys. I found some poking up through the snow a few weeks ago in the CVNP. Nicely captured, Phil. I especially like the lit interior of the foreground shoot. Don't see that too often.
