I have a nikon 600mm and have noticed some weird rattling going on around the VR on/off switch. When I turn the switch off it stops rattling but when it is on it persists. Is this bad? Any ideas? I checked to make sure the 55mm filter was tight and not causing it. Thanks.
It sounds like a screw might be loose near the element(s) that move when vibration reduction is active. I would suggest going to Pro Photo Supply and ask them to take a listen. Probably don't turn VR on anymore until you get an update on the condition. Good Luck.

Thanks Erik! I think I figured it out, at least it is not doing it anymore. I joust reattached the lens and made sure VR was not activated and turned of the camera and disconnected. I have no idea what was going on but I think it had something to do with me disconnecting the lens while the VR was activated.
