I waited all day for the wind to settle so I could capture these flowers. Out of frustration I finally set up my golf umbrella to the side of the foreground flowers waiting for a slight lull. I think it turned out ok. I blended two images here for better depth of field. This image was taken in southwest Montana. Correct me if I'm wrong, I think these are called Mountain Sunflowers.
After a slew of computer problems it's good to be posting again. Thanks for taking a look.

Well done focus stack. Love the composition.
I must say, Montana sure greens up faster that Colorado.
Very nice. I really like the composition. I'm a sucker for flowers, especially sunflowers of any type.

Technically, these are Alpine Sunflowers Hymenoxys grandiflora or also called Old Man of the Mountain. No matter the definition, you found quite a nice healthy grouping of them in this image. I love the dramatic clouds in the sky too.
Beautiful image, and a masterful blending job!
The shaft of light streaming towards the mountains really adds a lot to this already grand scene.
Have you had a typical winter up there this year?
Very nice composition with emphasis on the flowers. With the cold and snow coming in for the weekend this image is a warm reminder that spring is on the way.
John, our snow pack last I heard was 60-70 percent of normal. If we don't get a ton of moisture between now and the middle of July we'll be on fire. Hate the smoke but the forests could use a good cleaning.
Don. this was taken last summer around 9000 feet of elevation. A lot of snow up there now.
