Bar tailed godwit feeding
.. well, once I was trapped face down in the mud by a combination of suction and advanced hypothermia, I thought I had better take a picture of this godwit as it came past ..

Comments appreciated as always.

I really like the gentle colours here. It could so easily have been flat but the contrast and hues work really well for me. And the POV too :toast:

Excellent stuff Dave - but I reckon a few inches higher would have been better . It would have lessened the distinct line of the OOF foreground. Just my humble opinion and I do have strong views on the Low POV
syndrome/craze.
Its not the natural angle that a humam would view things from - but it's different and thats what every one seems to want.
Cheers

I agree with Marcus on this one Dave, the subtle colours look so good. I'm a big fan of low level shooting, so this is working for me too, top shot.

Mmmm chocolate. Maybe that's how the birdies view mud? Great work and self sacrifice to get this eye level view.

The slight discomfort was well worth putting up with in return for the intimate viewpoint.
