A few weeks ago our guinea pig family was extended with to little gp's
I had the experience that insects are difficult te photograph, but this is even more difficult, they never stopped moving around.
I did try to make some pictures of them using a ministudio and my ringflash.
I did use my 16-35 mm lens on F8 with 1/200
This is the one I like most.

If you want to see the rest of the family look at

Please feel free to comment these picture, so I can learn something. I do not use my ministudio much so I did some experimenting.

Thanks.

I don't know the first thing about studio photography so can't offer any helpful suggestions but it's certainly a very striking portrait of a really cute looking animal. The eye level viewpoint is particularly striking, as is the guinea pigs stance.

Tom, great shot for a Friday afternoon, love it!. :toast:

Echo Justin's comments re clarity, pose, POV & sharpness, perfect. Might crop a tad off the lhs. BTW, Dare I assume Hammy might show up at some point?

Nice GP portrait and well done for getting him/her to stand still. I'm not too keen on the black background though. I think black works well for some things but maybe not this.

Cheers

That is one little cutie pie. Beautiful detail right down to the whiskers. Love the composition and think the black background works really well. :jump:

Superb shot and as you say really difficult to capture. I'm not surprised as apparently the Peruvians consume an estimated 65 million guinea pigs each year.

I love the black background.
