I have a dilemma and would like to seek opinions from others. Currently I'm shooting with a Canon 20D and presently have enough funds stashed away to upgrade to the 7D. As for my current lenses I frequently shoot with the Canon 28-135 IS and Sigma 10-22. Would I get more bang for my buck by upgrading my lenses or should I plan to upgrade to the 7D?
Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I'm usually on the side of upgrading lenses, but I've used both of those lenses before with great results, and the 20D is pretty ancient technology by DSLR standards. The 7D is a huge improvement all the way around (greater resolution, lack of appreciable noise at higher ISO speeds, much better/clearer LCD screen, etc., etc.).
The Live View feature alone is worth the upgrade cost for nature photographers, IMO. My advice would be to upgrade your camera first.

I'm in John's corner too. Lenses are usually the lasting upgrade, but the newer generation of bodies has made a major leap in resolution at a reasonable price point and your lenses will not be hurt by that. The 28-135 may be a bit weak, but the Sigma UWA will be fine.

I would upgrade to the 7D Eric. I had a 20D, 40D, and now 5DM2. There was a big leap in image quality between the 20D > 40D. You can always sell the 20D (I have sold a lot of my old camera equipment (bodies, lenses on e-bay) then put that cash towards a new lenes.
The 20D is old-tech, but I have a friend who is still shooting with a 20D. If the 20D isn't getting the job done for you, then it's time to upgrade, but if you are not dissatisfied with it performance, the keep it and get the lens you need.
You only have two lenses. Are they satisfactory? Could you make good use of a new lens? A telephoto maybe? 135mm doesn't give you a lot of reach. How about a macro? If you are satisfied with the lenses you have, then by all means upgrade your body.
I would suggest getting the 7d. Overall, in features and quality of images, it is excellent. If you were to upgrade your glass, I would suggest the- 24-105.

I do own a 20D and a 1DIII and there is so much difference in noise and so on.
Good luck in choosing.
