2nd Shot Eureka Dunes
I was going through my images thanking my luck with the light at the Eureka Dunes a couple of weeks ago and contemplating a one day wildflower trip in the Tehachapi Woodford Road area for this weekend. When I thought to post a second shot. My other post with the main part of the dunes did not show the mountains forming the valley. This image does, there's good light and shadow, but the ridge line behind the dunes definitely gives the image a different look to me. Olympus E-500 f/18 ISO 100 1/100

What I really like about this shot is that the light is on the dunes, while the mountains and foreground are in shadow. Nice capture.

From this angle and overall lighting Paul, the colorful layering in the mountains in the BG is excellent. I know the dunes are the main subject here, but many times the cast of surrounding characters can really add to a scene like this one.
