Sigma Zoom Wide Angle-Telephoto 28-300mm f/3.5-6.3 DG Macro Autofocus Lens for Canon EOS or
Tamron Zoom Wide Angle-Telephoto AF 28-300mm f/3.5-6.3 XR Di LD Aspherical IF Macro Autofocus Lens for Canon EOS
I'm looking for a lens that has a wide zoom range (I'm kind of tired of changing lenses all the time), but that at the same time is of good quality.
(I'd go for the Canon Zoom Wide Angle-Telephoto EF 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6L IS USM, but unfortunately I don't have the 2 grand it's worth).
I would appreciate any help.
Thanks

In photography, everything is a trade off. These big range zooms do sacrifice some quality for the convenience. Of the two you mentioned, the Tamron generally gets the best reviews.
Personally, I was very disappointed with the Tamron 28-300. Lacking general sharpness but also in my experience the color was generally off as well as lacking contrast. The range was very nice but I ended up selling this lens a couple of months ago because I couldn't live with the trade offs.
