Sandstone Cranes
Let's face it...this is the closest I'm ever gonna to get to bird photography.
These ancient petroglyphs were photographed yesterday in a canyon not too far from home. Cloned out a few bullet holes.

Hope this helps get you folks that are headed down this way soon in the mood. For once, we didn't get any snow from that last storm, so the roads are finally drying out and the weather is warming up nicely.

Great way to keep the thread alive, John! Very neat shot. At least it was just bullet holes you had to clone out, and not dicks and Ozzy logos.

If I didn't have a house to prep so we can put it up for sale, I'd be heading your way.

Awesome place (bullet holes aside). I like the framing of the cranes a little off to the right side.

I like the comp as well, and the light and color too! And that you found a way to contribute to the crane shots.

I like the comp, John, The apparent vignette keeps your eye centered too. The variations in tone and color make it interesting.

Nice find John. How did you sneak up on them and get that close

Very nice John. I always like your petroglyph shots. Did you need a blind to get close?

Well, you did have to use the long end of that zoom.
Nice find.

Hey, Rene, I think we need a rock art theme for the monthly challenge.

I really like this shot, John. I've never seen rock art like this. The vignette works really well.
