Paint Mines Prarie
I deferred to my friend who wanted to go to the Paint Mines Park instead of the Flatirons yesterday. It turned out to be beneficial and more what I needed with the wide open spaces. I really enjoyed that aspect of the trip. Here are a few from my morning out there.

Comments and critiques always welcome, and thanks for looking,

Morris

Beautiful Series! There might be some candidates for black & white in the group.
I always enjoy seeing your posts.

Great series of images is right!

2 and 4 really jump at me.

Very cohesive series ... I like it. Great color palette. I appreciate the effect, but #4 seems way too soft.

Good eye Morris.

Whew! I really like that #4! The pastel nature of this series is also very intriguing.

David and Darren, you are very kind.
Jesse, thanks, more contrast or sharpening?
Todd, thank you. The light was what made it interesting for me. The storm was clearing, so there was a fast changing mix of light from clouds burning off.

I thought that ESS shot was from the paint mines! I went there after a blizzard a couple years back and it was just oozing with those kind of scenes. I really like these--1 & 4 stand out for me. I like the soft dreamy look in 4, but it might be worth trying a sharper or more contrasy scene if only to compare (looks like a clarity/midtone contrast issue)

Beautiful job here Morris. Love the delicate grasses and the whites which enhance the softness. You're good at these.

I actually like the panoramic crop of #4 that emphasizes the sweeping nature of the landscape over the version you have at ES&S. Agree with Stan that a clarity/midtone contrast boost (and perhaps a wee bit of sharpening) would be a real asset here.
Nice choice of frames, as well.

#4 stands out to me. The repeating patterns of grass and shadow help this one stand out.

All are good Morris but #2 floats my boat. Great work as usual from you.

I can't pick a favorite Morris....I like them all

#4 is my favorite. I like your pano crop choice.

You didn't miss much at the Flatirons. Clear, blue sky morning. Not what I was expecting. The weather forecast for Boulder had clouds and snow showers forecast till late morning, so I was hoping for something a bit more dramatic.

Nice series, Morris! #4 really stands out for me.

#2 for me. Very simple, effective composition. gotta love grass! (the prairie kind, Todd)

#4 for me too Morris, I really like the pano format and the soft light, but the entire series is very nice!.

I need to open my eyes and be more observant! I would have probably walked right on by without seeing these. They are wonderful, especially #4, beautiful soft light too!
