Copyright watermark

Can anyone tell me how to put a copyright symbol or watermark on my photos?

Hi Robert,
On most computers while working in photoshop with the text tool you can add a copyright symbol by holding the alt key down and then pushing 0169.

If you are looking for a specific design that you want to create the best way to learn how is to search "making watermark in photoshop" on Youtube. I actually did this today because I forgot a step and wanted to tweak mine. You'll get plenty of tutorials that teach you step by step.

Robert: Nate is mostly correct but another wrinkle is that you need to use the numeric keypad and not the numbers across the top of the keyboard. Also, if you have a laptop you need to use the alternate numbers inscribed on the standard letter keys. On my laptop I have to hold down both the Alt key and the Fn key and then type M J O 9. Credit for the laptop trick goes to Pat Sampson who turned me on to the technique a year or so ago. >=))>

On the Mac it is just Option-G

You can also use the Character Map...select, then copy the © symbol.

I cheat and create it in a word processing program where there's a pulldown for symbols. I keep the file in my photo software folder right along with Photoshop, then I just copy and paste. It takes on whatever font you've selected in Photoshop.
