DPReview has the press release and a little more info. The DPReview page claims cell phone products will roll out next year. But they haven't announced a semiconductor manufacturing partner, and they are just talking about it being easy to integrate into standard manufacturing processes. (And it's never easy to integrate something new into a billion dollar production line.) They also mention security, cell phone, and military applications - so they aren't ready to jump to dedicated consumer cameras yet.

I guess what I'm saying is that I have my doubts that this will show up in P&S, EVIL, or SLR cameras any time in the next few years. But that's typical of new technology announcements, where they want to get as much good press as possible.

“InVisage delivers 4x higher performance, 2x higher dynamic range and professional camera features not yet found in mobile image sensors.”

Yee Haw…. Claims like this and the technology is still so new?

We may have some serious dynamic range coming down the pipe.

I’m selling my grad filters!! Or maybe not
