Very slick with improved sharpening and noise reduction, and support for direct tethering for many cameras and a host of new features. Free until June 30.

I've been using LR 3 Beta 2 for a few days now and IMHO the sharpening/noise reduction is WORSE in beta 2! It's much noisier than even LR 2. And getting rid of that graininess/noise is annoying.

Has anyone else had this experience?

I find working the sharpening detail slider and luminance noise reduction together with amount, can produce a nice compromise. That being said, I still prefer using CS to sharpen, where I can add a mask. I haven't used the adjustment brush to sharpen, but I notice the controls there are fewer.

Overall though, LR3 is pretty awesome. The tether feature works easily with my D300 although it does not seem to support live view and mirror lock. Those would be nice additions.

I agree with Glenn. I've been using the beta (2) since it was released, and it does a good job up to 800 ISO on photos of considerable range of density. By using the sliders and watching the results in the preview it is easy to "WYSIWYG" to a decent result.

There are still some glitches and unfinished business for Adobe to tend to before final release, but if it fulfills the promise of the beta versions, I will be upgrading.

Is there a Lightroom function for printing out folder listings, similar to the DOS "dir" function, perhaps with selectable fields such as date, size format etc?
I cannot locate print routines in LR 3 Beta 2 that will allow me to print selected lists of images.
Thank you
