I've had an inquiry about licensing some of my work on a client's website, and was wondering if anyone would care to share what you are charging. Most websites don't show pricing for this kind of use, but one well-known photographer lists a fee of $75.00 for a 200+ kB image. FotoQuote suggests a median value of $500+ for licensing a 150x180 image for one year. Does the market really support that much? Seems pretty high to me.

Intellectual property, time, equipment, upgrades... and your stuff is GOOD.

"Friend website"--makes no difference--business is business. If you can't make money off your friends for good service or items it is difficult to make money off your enemies... Good friends understand.

Easy to negotiate down.

Go for the top.

That said, I've never had any photos that good and have no experience with photography--just talking from a business standpoint of which I'm a business owner.

Wait for more advice from those who've been where you're going.

Hey Bill, I asked a similar Q recently, you might find some of this info useful:

I ended up using alamy.com as a sort of guideline. I found it much more realistic than a lot of other sites. Just search for ozarks or whatever that will find images similar to what you're dealing with.

Oh and also - they sent me a check out no questions asked once I sent them the quote so I probably should have went even higher. Don't price too low!

Thanks for the help Larry and Taylor. I've always heard what a great piece of software fotoquote is, but have always thought the quotes were much too high for the midwest region - even their low end.
