A couple post-snow shots
Nothing too exciting, but after spending the night without heat or power, i figured id stay warm by doing some photography after the clouds cleared in the afternoon. Headed out towards Wetmore/Hardscrabble. I remembered there are some good views of Pikes Peak near Wetmore so thats where i ended up at sunset, standing in a couple feet of snow to get an unobstructed shot at the peak!

Here's a shot of the Wets as sunset approached

Some decent shots to be had up by Hardscrabble (although Todd's pinnacle once again did not appeal to me!) unfortunately no where to pull over. I shot this one stopped in the middle of the road and shot this handheld out the window (while holding my breath!) Thats all, i finally got power back after 22 hours.

Nice!

And great way to enjoy the lack of heat and electric too.

We even had a few freak inches in Texas Saturday night. 70 on Friday, Snow Saturday night. 70 by Monday again.

These shots really make me miss Colorado...I always loved these "Spring" snow storms. Looks like more is headed your way by Friday!

I like the soft colours in #1 Stan, and the textures in #3!. That was some very wet heavy snow the last round we got!.

Love that pearly light in the first one, Stan. A really nice view, though I don't expect it'll hold its own in your portfolio. Enjoy all the moisture down here, folks; the northern Rockies are going to have it bad this summer.

#1 is my favorite Stan, nice job!

Stan, I really love #1. There is one stray dark cloud in the top just right of center that I would possibly clone out because it kinda looks like a dust spot. But the colors and the trees are awesome!

Stan, #1 is pretty exciting to me! Love the pastels! Gotta love those wet spring snowfalls.

I love that view of Pikes in #1, Stan, and the soft pastels are really nice. I think a crop from the bottom strengthens that image.

Stan,

They look great! I'm glad you were able to come up with a place to shoot and definitely glad to hear that your power was restored.

Well, you certainly made the most of your quick trip. These are excellent, Stan! That Pikes Peak shot is the best I've seen from our neck o' the woods, and believe me, I've tried my hand at it.Really nice stuff.

I've been through that canyon in my 4WD truck and not found a place to pull off and not get stuck, so I feel your pain.

I like #1 and #3 for different reasons for both. Light in 1 and comp in 2. At least you could get warm in the truck. 22 hours is just brutal.

Excellent shots Stan! I think number 1 speaks most to me, but they are all terrific!

#1 takes the cake for me too. Love the non-typical view of Pikes and the bluish pastel-looking tones.

Nice color and I like the details in the trees in the first image.

Stan, #1 seems to stand for its composition and detail in foreground.

Nice work, as always.
