I cannot get a file larger that 200kb to upload no matter which browse option I choose in the gallery section, if I use the bottom browse accross from the 1200/500 option with a file I had at 1200/476kb, I get file not found, it is in jpg format????
When I reduce it to 200 or less kb it loads fine but I loose image quality?

Any thoughts?

Thanks, Dave

David, answering your question above, yes it should be a jpeg. Typically, I size the image 720 or 1200, then convert to sRGB profile, then Save For Web at 200k or 500k respectively.

I think you've got everything straight Dave....seems to be a technical glitch on upload. Maybe try clearing your cookies and cache and restarting the browser? Or trying a different browser?

I believe the limit for a post hosted at NPN is 200k. There is also a pixel dimension limit. You need to adjust the pixel size, then save for web/devices optimizing to a file size below the limit. In the "save for web & devices" dialog the optimize menu is found under the icon on the top right corner. I guess I'm assuming you are using Photoshop CS4. I hope this helps, rather than further frustrates you!

are you uploading a 720 pixel/200K image at the same time that you're trying to do the 1200 pixel/500K image? The 720 has to be there for the 1200 to work.
