I am fortunate to be able, through my brother, to be able to assist, occassionaly, in feeding elk and sheep in the Yakima County area. I believe that some of you have visited the Oak Creek (elk)and Mt. Cleman (sheep) feeding areas which provide some quite wonderful opportunities to capture images of wild elk and sheep (eagles, too). This photo (I have a number, especially bulls, which I believe are much better), was taken at an elk feeding area, unknown to and inaccesible, to most people, where this year as many as 2000 elk were being fed daily (by 3 of us)until recently when the feed program ended because of warm weather and lots of new grass at higher elevations. While the photo is not of good quality, I like it because it is reminicent of the Budweiser horse ad in which the young guy wanted to be like the big guys. How corney is that? Besides, how wonderful to be in the middle of 2000 elk?

Great story, Jim. I like the lower half of this image a lot. I'd consider cropping it to a pano just to see how it looks. I hope we get to see some more of your elk and sheep shots soon.

Hi, Jim. Yeah what a treat to be able to see that amount of wildlife in one place and get the chance to help them out. This shot isn't so bad. I kind of like the big flare around the single animal. Do show us more!
