Can anyone give me an ID on this; I’ve looked through the book and am still none the wiser. I took the shot last year, I was waiting for a B/O to arrive when this flew fast and low strait at me then turned hard left. This is all I got, no full tail or wing tip, as it flew at me it seemed to me to be mainly brown.

Hi Bob,

Its a Sparrowhawk, a young bird by the looks of it, well caught!

Cheers,

Lewis.

Hi Lewis , I did wonder about that but it seemed rather small , it was taken late September if that is any help.

I second Lewis's ID. You must have superb reflexes to have got that!
