Okay, it's a little intimidating posting after John, but here goes nothing! This shot of Grand Falls is the result of an odd coincidence. The sun set at just the right spot that two light beams illuminated the two main portions of the lower falls.

Here's another shot taken not too long afterwards with a little warmer light.

Oooooh. I love the second shot with the warmer colors, the beams of light at a lower angle and more of a pano crop. This view makes the falls look incredibly powerful. Fantastic!

Sweet! I think I like the light and wider FOV in #2 better. Both are impressive.

One of these years I'll make it out there and get the audio.

Neat lighting, #2 is the clear winner!

Both are nice, but the second is better. Kudos!

These are both sweet, but #2 is also my favorite.
Hope the rest of your trip is just as successful as this outing!

Another vote for #2 - I like the fact that the little whirlpool is more defined in the 2nd.

#2 all the way. Beautiful image, Grant.

Yup, #2 is a keeper. Well done!

Well, it seems to be a clear consesus. #1 it is! Okay, I figured I'd post something different here than on my FB page, but I guess I should have just stuck with #2... Thanks for the comments!

Man, what a cool place! They both rock, Grant.

The #2 with warmer color is beautiful.

Definitely like #2 the best, but both are very good! I'll be there on Thursday, hopefully there will still be some water.

Grant, this is awesomE...but #2 is the winner for me! Love the warmer light! Amazing how much the scene changes in a few minutes.

Very nice - I like #2 also, the light, but also how it allows the eye to follow the flow down the creek!

Very nice, #2 is definitely the winner. I love how the rays hit the mist.

You guys all got some great shots. Each one of them are different and unique. Great job!

This one is fabulous with the light streaks, but #2 is the winner with that warm light. Saweet!

Fascinating, seeing the completely different takes from you three. Love the streaks of light here, Grant. The wider view has some nice color, but I prefer the one you've posted here - if you're asking. Tight, and dramatic.

I am with the masses here, #2 is my fave. #1 is pretty damn good as well!

I agree with Jesse, I love the different perspectives of three photogs at the same location at the same time. #2 gets my vote too. I love the swirl of the splash pool.

I was shooting turret arch by moonlight on Saturday night, inspired by your work. Someone was lighting stuff up across the way at double arch. Thought it might be you but I don't think the car I saw had CO plates.

Hope you got nice shots of Turret, Kalin. Nope, that wan't me lighting up Double Arch. I've only tried light painting once...prefer the natural light. But more than once, I've had a long star trail exposure going in Arches only to have someone start light painting the scene. I refrained from chasing after them, but if anyone is ever light painting and they are chased off by a madman swinging a tripod, it's probably me.

Awesome shots! Both are very very nice.
