Great detail & spot on colour Ian, as expected  The eye really makes it for me. Any more of the log? Would like to see a tad more. :wavey:

Stephen a quick repost with more of the log

Excellent image, Ian, I prefer the second one, the highlights and more of the log brings it a bit more to life, colour and light is spot on.

I feel that is more in keeping Ian and more balanced, thanks :wavey:

Now, being really picky, the two hot spots, guess they were cropped in the original. Sorry Ian.

I prefer the second. I like the extra space given. Nice job getting such a good shot of one, I haven't come close yet. :toast:

Hi Ian, I prefer the second image. Great capture. :toast:

what a beauty Ian, you must be pleased with that one. I think I prefer the second, although perhaps with slightly less perch (but a bit more than the first one  ).

I think Matt has covered it nicely and get rid of the 'hot spots'.. Cracking image of a subject I have very rarely seen.

Hi Ian,

Lovely shot! I agree with Matt and Brett, somewhere between the two would be spot on IMO. Also the black cap and eye seem to have lost a bit of detail in the second post.

Cheers,

Lewis.

Cheers for the input :toast:

The second post was a quick edit ( I was idle ) and not resized for web use which might explain the lack of sharpness.
