Not enough time to share images here on NPN lately. I have a few PNW images from the last few months that have been languishing in limbo that I have been intending to share. This one was taken in November at sunrise/moonset on the outskirts of Ashland just a few miles from my home. In early winter we get thick fog that forms in the lowest parts of the valley and then moves up toward Ashland every morning. I liked the rural landscape combined with the elements of fog, moonlight and morning twilight all coinciding.
I love the tree colors compared to the sky and the fog transition in the middle. Given the position of the moon at this moment, it is a very nice pic and I would bet a great print.
The only thing that would make this photo pop a little more, in my opinion, would be if the moon were lower and it was cropped down with more of a pano look so the foreground was a little more prominent and the dark sky at the top less so. Of course, it's rather difficult to move the moon outside of Photoshop.
Thanks for sharing.

Sean, I love this shot. Wonderful colors and great comp. Well done!.
Beautiful shot. I love the flow of autumn trees around the foggy, frosty green. I agree with Ryan that it would be interesting to see it with the moon a wee bit lower. I'm not sure how you feel about changing planetary movements, but if you cropped the shot just below where the moon currently is, and moved the moon lower to give the same space at the top of the frame as it has with the current crop, it might have more impact. There is a lot of sky between elements in this shot. On the other hand, I wouldn't want to lose too much of that nice blue in the sky, so I'm not sure a flat pano would be ideal.
Sean I suggest losing the upper half of the sky including the moon. I think the bulk of the excellentness in this image is the wonderful foreground! The only thing in the sky that adds to the image is the moon but it doesn't carry the rest of the sky IMHO.
