Took a little trip to southern UT this weekend and here's a few images from the journey.
#1 Mitten Shadow. Kind of a classic I know. I was actually one day early (Sat the 27th), but for a different view I walked about 3/4 of a mile past the primitive camping area to put the mittens in opposite position than what is seen in almost all the usual images. Even though I was a day early I am not really bothered by the shadow not being dead center.

Interesting take on the mittens, Jeff. I like the light and color but I think I'd prefer less space between the moon and buttes. Still, I kinda like the long vertical crop.

I really like your compositional choices in #1. And you caught the shadow.

Not sure if you were going for a mood thing with the first one, but it looks really dark to me. But I do think it's an amazing shot. Can't imagine it's all that often that the moon and the mitten shadow correspond so favorably.
I agree with brightening up #1 a little, but that is a great shot - the shadow, the moon, what more can a photographer ask for. I also like #2, you managed to add a good sense of depth to that comp. Very nice!.

I like all 3 shots, with the first one being my favorite. Great mood and yeah, maybe a touch lighter. Excellent comps and light management.

Thanks for the comments folks! After "sitting" on the first image for a couple of days I agree with the tad brighter theme, which I will do. Thanks again.
