I was fortunate to be able to gain access

Robert,
With the white flowers it's almost a preview of what the hills will look like after a light dusting of snow from the very cold front passing through today and tomorrow. Of course its not, it's interesting how the orange flowers are in the Oak tree shadow area. Nice sidelight well done.
Robert, it must have been a really good outing to have the access to this private land area. Seems as though it has a lot to offer from just reviewing this one image too. Just hiking around sites like this can be a lot of fun.
As Paul D stated, it's interesting how certain flowers congregate in certain areas. Of course this can be seen almost everywhere with various foliage, but still always a neat thing to see.
That small grouping alone looks like it could provide some nice shots too.
Nice colors and lines, Robert. Looks like you hit the jackpot with access to that ranch. What fun! Nice flowers and no need to throw elbows with the hordes.
nice job using diagonals in your composition. i'm wanting to see a bit of breathing room above the tree, though. aside from that suggestion, this is a strong image.
Looks like you made the most of your fortunes here. I like the way the low light enhances the hill shapes, the waves of flowers and shape of the oak. I too might prefer a bit of additional room above the oak, but works as presented too. Nice work!
