Dog Otter
Thanks for the comments on my last image. This one is of the same Otter who decided to come a lot closer to where I was hiding. He really suprised me as he was a big old thing and left the loch to drink from a freshwater pool. I was downwind of him but he must have heard the shutter and looked up to have a sniff. As I was laid flat behind the lens I'm guessing he couldn't work out what I was and so finished his drink and ambled back into the water.

1D3 700mm ISO:800 1/320 sec @ f/5.6

Thanks for looking

A fine close up portrait Simon. Not as atmospherical as your previous post but then a totally different type of image.

Near centre of the frame is just right for that pose. Even at 700mm, this must have been a great close encounter.

Unless you get a tip off to where these are you have your work really cut out not only finding these but getting a half decent image,so with that Simon I commend your hard work here, such a typical pose captured when they come across you, love the composition and POV,well done   :wavey:
