Motion of the Ocean
Lately, I've been really drawn to images with water...reflecting lakes, waterfalls, streams...anything.

You all were kind enough with your comments on the "yin/yang" experiment...I'll push my luck and try out another experiment on you!

I was trying to capture a sense of the ocean waves rolling in/washing out. The constant movement really got my attention. Nothing too fancy here...trying to be a little artistic. Handheld shot - kept it soft on purpose. Pushing myself to be be a little more creative...

I like this, but not sure if it has any broader appeal. Let me know if it works/doesn't work.

Now that right there is art...so much so it appears to be an oil... so clean, crisp, I can see this printed on a big ol sheet of giclee canvas, and gallery wrapped say, 48" x 24" or so - it's screaming to be hung in a beachside cottage somewhere in the Caribbean. Bahamas comes to mind (I need a vacation).

Nice work Jamie.

Trying different avenues of creativity in your photography improves your vision.

I'm with CR on this. The first thing I thought when I saw this was, "art piece." I also agree w/CR as far as the giclee/g-wrap/48x24. Where we part ways is his suggestion that you hang it somewhere close to the ocean. Why? Those people get to look at this all day long. This needs to hang somewhere far removed from the coasts so that it can be fully appreciated. I'll send you my address.

Jamie, this is beautiful! The softness of the image really works in its favor. Well done.

Definitely works for me too. Wish it was posted a little larger here, but I'm sure it would look good printed big.

Love it. I think what really adds to this is the inclusion of the horizon line. I like the softness of the water for this image because it is so painterly. Usually this is not the case for my personal taste. I agree that its strength would be printed quite large and hanging in a place where it can be viewed and envied. That would be my home if I had the room.

This is simple, but very nice. Well done!
