Hopi Point- first post
Here is a recent image from Hopi Point taken a month ago as a winter storm was clearing. Any C&C is always welcome.
f/8 1/15s ISO-200 cpl. Some footprints have been cloned from the snow.

For the past year since getting a D90, I have been venturing to various locales in Northern Arizona to put together a calendar for family and friends. This has lead to a deeper enjoyment of landscape photography, assembling a gallery on smugmug, and lurking here at NPN. Many excellent photographers and images are here to serve as motivation, so today I am joining to share some and learn. At the moment, my photography has been limited to sharing just with friends and family.

Welcome to the nuthouse, Doug! This is a sweet shot. I love the spotlighting and the clouds. I'd say add a touch of contrast and maybe a little bit of saturation, even in the blues.

Cool shot, and welcome aboard.

Welcome, Doug. Flagstaff is such a great central location for photography. I'm looking forward to your posts.

I love the dramatic clouds and lighting. My only nit would be the large blank area of snow.

Welcome, and an excellent first post. I actually like the subdued color in this shot and the comp is well done.

Thank you for the welcome. I took your suggestions and cropped a little snow off the base and added some contrast (mid and general), saturation and lighter highlights. Seems to make the image spark a little more despite the overcast day.

Yes, Flag makes it nice to be able to be in great spots in a few hours. A plethora of places to still visit and revisit.

Very nice! I'd call this one "December" - should be a great candidate for your calendar this year. Looking forward to seeing more of your work!

Welcome to RMNP, Doug! I know exactly where this tree is as I've also photographed it. Your image is much nicer, though. I love the sliver of light on the canyon and the foreboding sky. Really looking forward to your participation in the forums. :toast:

Welcome!
What a difference a little postprocessing made with this scene.
Right time, right place and you were there. Doesn't get much better, does it?

Welcome aboard and thanks for sharing such a great image. I like the updated version. My only nit was that the horizon looks tilted down on the left.
