Male Chaffinch on spruce.
Taken from the same hide as the earlier coal tit.
Small crop from the left side for composition.
Canon 1D Mk11N,300mm canon lens,1/250 f5.6 and iso400.

I echo John's comments.
A lovely shot of a bird which is often overlooked.
I also like square crops even though I have often seen them critisised on the forum.

Excellent image.

Lovely detail and the perch with cones really sets it off. I always find my Chaffinch shots really disappointing when viewed on the computer. They somehow always look dull and flat. You have really captured how the bird truly looks. :toast: :jump:

Hello Phil.

Stunning Chaffinch picture and the colours through out this image could'nt be better.

Top class and one of the best Chaffinch pictures I have seen.

An excellent shot. I'm not always a big fan of square crops but it certainly works well on this one.

Most attractive indeed, so much so it makes me want to see the bird smaller with more of that atrractive surround. :wavey: :wavey:
