Here's a little more literal image than the two I've posted on ESS. Here, you get more of an idea of the textures of this amazing sea foam.

These are sweet photos, Rick. I saw the 2 you posted in ESS and was really impressed. I really like the comp on this one. I'm still amazed that this is sea foam!

Every time I look at these shots, I get a sense of awe and wonder. Really nice work, Rick.

Were's the mermaid?

I agree with the rest Rick, it's pretty darn cool!

Thanks for the comments! Ned...very funny  Jim, there was a mermaid, but the foam was too thick to see her

Wow, Rick, that is REALLY cool! I gotta hurry off to ESS to see the other ones.

It's neat and cool and interesting but I'll bet you never sell a single one. It's one of those photos that is fun to "see" with a camera but, as cool as it might be, it ain't art.

I've had comments on the other images in ESS about a gallery showing of these...but honestly, Mark... I agree with you...or at least, I'd never be interested in buying any of them myself. It was fun to shoot though and see the different shapes on the screen. I cant wait to do it again.

I disagree with Mark - photo competitions might be a great target for shot like these. there are so many competitions out there with a theme like "water" or sg similar. Natures Best "Oceans" awards might fit too. (well they both already ended for this year, I just found out... )
hey - and it still could make for an ad-shot for milk shake...
who says an image has to be art to sell???

Georg, thanks for the comments. I guess being that art is subjective...and I've seen some pretty ugly art hung on people's walls before. One could spit on a canvas and call it art and who could really argue?

I dont submit to competitions because most of the time, they rip off the winners in the end...but I just might do as you suggest and enter this. Hey, it's different...and it should get some kind of points for that, huh?

Rick, you're right about the contest (and the "goodoldwhatsartargument"), but since you mentioned you not gonna really use it or just shot it for the fun you might as well throw it into a competition... (thats how I do it...) what do you know, it might win you a camera...
