This was taken this summer up at Trillium Lake with a small group of us PNW npn'ers. I go back and forth on this one too, but I think it has some redeeming qualities...
I'm off to Texas until Thursday...so you all have fun. I'll probably check in and see what you're all up to as time allows.
I'm with Erick on the shutter speed.... If this was presented just the right way in the final print/mat/frame then it would be really sweet! Have a blast in Texas......
I love it! Was going to post some water abstracts in response to Mark H's snow abstract, but never got the files right for transmission. Now I'm motivated again.
Where are you in Texas? Anywhere near the Gulf coast? I can suggest a few sites there & would love to hear your experiences, I may be there again in April.....keep up the great work.

Nice one, Rick. Is the bright red part of the mountain reflection? It looks very placid.
Thanks for the feedback ya'll. Ned, yes...that was the mountain. It had very little snow on it and glowed very nicely.
Eric, I just got back from Texas a few hours ago. I was in Frisco, TX, about 40 minutes out of Fort Worth. As for landscapes there...well, if you like flat, barren land...this is the place to be :) I would have loved to hit the gulf coast or somewhere. Instead, my highlight of the trip was eating dinner at SouthFork ...you know, where they filmed Dallas...remember JR?
It was a wild night though...they forcasted severe thunderstorms and tornado watches...hail the size of quarters...that kind of thing. I could only stay up for the lightining and wind. I've never seen so much lighting in all my life. I just stood at the edge of the resort's parking lot for about an hour watching it. Too bad my camera was in the shop.

It is kind of cool. I wonder what it would look like with a little faster shutter speed. BTW, have fun in Texas!
Well I really like it! Really really like it!
