Taken at Donna Nook in November last year. I had spent over 40 mins slowly crawling closer to this mother with calf with the aim of getting some nice tender images of the calf suckling. Images in the bag and I was about to crawl away again when a large bull a good 100 metres away started flopping towards the sea following a direct route straight towards the calf. The mum started vocalising then charged the bull shortly after this image was taken. The bad breath and screaming won and the bull chose a slightly indirect route down to the sea and the mother returned to the calf.
Good sandy sharp pose, good POV and like those falling bits of sand like she's rolling over and ready to defend her young. Not so keen on the little green bits.

Hi Ben,
Thats a nice comical shot with great detail, the low level makes the image.
Cheers,

Excellent portrait Ben, super sharp and with super detail too.
Andy...
Good timing on this one with some super detail, and the POV which as made this a strong image was worth the effort.
