Great Blue Herons
Pretty windy shooting the herons the other morning. This image is cropped, but I was trying to show the conditions. Thanks for looking.

Great light, and great pose in this image Dan!. I'm presuming the top Heron is very carefully perched on the very end of that one branch?, that must of been quite the balancing act in this weekend's wind!.

Thanks Nick. Actually, the top heron was trying to land. After a couple attempts, he ended up just flying into a pond on the other side of the road.

Nice Dan! I was thinking about posting the same series, but might change now so I don't look like a copy cat  I like the crop you went with on this one and the angle they reate diagonally through the frame. Looks like they are stacked one on top of another.

Great one, Dan. I love the diagonal you have going on here.

That brings a whole new meaning to compositional 'balance'!

Very nice work on this shot. Like the crop on the image and the similar posed birds. The gray clouds for a background complements the gray feathers.

Hang in there, baby! This definitely conveys the strength of the wind you experienced. Excellent shot.

Just when I think your heron images couldn't possibly get any better...

A magnificent moment and capture here, Dan!!
