Easter Sunrise
I had a good weekend of photography, found some new locations, met couple of other photographers, and despite the wind managed to get some decent shots.
Bare with me with this series, there are a few. I'd appreciate feedback on which ones people prefer the most. These were all taken Sunday am in bizarre weather, the clouds were turning mighty scary quickly, and pouring over the front range. The light was pretty decent despite a cloud bank to the East.
I left the warm tone to all the images purposely, despite it being pretty nippy out, the light and scene felt warm to me.
Canon 5Dmkii, Canon 24-105L, GND on some, no CP. Posted in shot order.

I like the balance in #5 the best--its my easy choice. Also like the moon in #1. The others are nice, but those two stand out for me. Great series!

Nice stuff, Nick. #5 tops them all IMO, but I do also really like #1 and #3.

#5 is also what stood out for me on the first pass. Nice balance in the composition between foreground and background.

Another vote here for #5. I also like #1 a lot. For what it's worth, #4 would've been my favorite if there was some color/glow in the clouds. I wonder how that one would look as a BW conversion?

Boy, that's a tough choice! I think I like #3 more than #5, as it seems to pull me in more forcefully. The first one's really nice, too. I think people are copping to these because of the very strong and useful foreground, which some of the ones that are mostly sky lack. In #4 and #6, I get a sense that I'm being cheated out of something without a good anchor along the bottom. #7 just looks too drab and twiggy for my tastes. Did those clouds produce anything? I love dynamic conditions like this, and you made the most of them.

Thanks guys for the very useful input!. Todd the clouds looked like they should of produced something, but they just flew straight over as I was heading back home. I guess we are getting closer to the thunderstorm season though, just a matter of time right!. In fact, today was the first day Longmont tested their warning sirens for the season!.

My favorites are #'s 3 & 5 with a very slight edge to #3.
I enjoy the foregrounds in those very much. Converting #4 to b&w strikes me as a good idea, as well.
Looks like a terrific morning!

Agree with the others on #3 and 5. Best feeling of depth in these images with the rushes leading to the trees and buildings and then the mountains.

One more vote for 3, 5, and 7. These all have your usual deft touch with capturing and processing light. Beautiful work, Nick!

Fantastic series, I like five the most.

#3 - The ratio of foreground and background give this a sense of place and scale. I think its the best composition of the series though I wouldn't complain if it had the light of #5.

#5 - This is the next in line for this series from my point of view. The foreground is interesting and well structured while the overall scale is still there. The marsh provides a good anchor, but the mountains are less prevalent. A little contrast increase on the mountains in this would probably bring out their color and definition better.
