The tulip festival at the Holland America company in Woodland officially opened this past weekend. The show field while a bit wet from our recent rains is a bit wet but open for visitors and photographers. If you haven't visited before, the show field and parking are up front and next to the retail store. Woodlands festival runs through April 30th.
This tulip shot on saturday, not the best of conditions as it was cold with showers and wind gust that challenged stopping the motion.
Directions- From Portland take I-5 north to exit 21. At exit turn left, west under freeway and follow tulip festival signs. Thru town posted speed limits are 20-25mph, watch $$$ your $$$ speed!

Thanks for sharing, Craig. Very nice example, as are the other recent ones you let me know about. I'll be back up there again on Wednesday afternoon and this weekend. I just can't get that excited about the big one in Oregon and the crowds..

We were there on Sat AM to PM. Maybe I walked by you? I was the crazy guy in the rain with the wife & kids. I saw two photogs on their knees checking out the purple and yellow tulips near the entrance.
FWIW, I think this week will be the best week to hit it. I hope to be there Weds, Thurs, and/or Fri early AM for that elusive sunrise shot...
Hey! Nice selective focus Craig! I'm kind of with Ned. The Woodburn one is like the Octoberfest without the beer and dancing... but I still wouldnt mind shooting it and meeting a few folks there. Maybe I'll jam out there before work on Friday...
