Barn Owl
Went for a walk the other day and stumbled across this fellow hunting and managed a few pictures.

Thats a beauty Dale. Shows the behaviour and also highlights the lovely tones on the back of the birds wings. Composition too is spot on. Very nice indeed.

Hi Dale,

Lovely shot, showing great detail, perhaps a little tight in the frame for me, if possible would have preferred a bit more room at the bottom. Karen is correct in saying it's a Female, you can tell this by the spots down her flanks.

Regards

Rob

Well caught. Lovely detail. I too think I would prefer a little more room on the left and bottom.

What a great shot.
I was watching one hunting some waste ground last week, wishing I had the camera instead of the rifle, as it was intent on diving for mice not more than 20 yards from where I was lying down.
Echo Brett's comment, but it works as a good behavioural shot :toast: :toast: :toast:

As mentioned, a little more space would be nice but other than that I'd love a chance to get a shot like this. Nice capture of a hunting barn owl.

Cheers,
Chris

I'm surprised this hasn't had more comments Dale? Well captured and a different POV.

Would have loved to have stumbled over this myself. Let me know next time you think of going for a stumble
