Fawn Lily
White dog tooth violet or trout lily to some. The blooms this spring are more numerous than last year. These little fellas must like the wetter spring that has happened so far.

I spent a lot of time trying to get a decent shot of this. Between lying on the wet woodland ground, waiting for some still air and getting old brown leaves out of the background I was able to get this shot.

I intentionally underexposed this when I shot it in hopes of reducing some background highlights and getting a faster shutter speed and then processed it to bring down the exposure a bit more. A softening layer was used to get this result. It does have decent sharpness which I may try to bring out in another work up of it. But for now this seems to work for me. I'm obviously going to need to go spend more time lying in the woods to get what I want. Oh Boy, more ticks! Yipee!

This image is a little smaller than a typical post. I used the same shot I posted in my blogs daily pics. I wrote a little bit more about it there.

Shoot'em while you can, they won't last long! Dutchman's Breeches are going strong right now also in east central Kansas. I struggled with them over the weekend as well...

i like it brad, its beautiful. might adjust brightness depending on where and how it was going to hang. could be okay as is with a nice spotlight on it, but otherwise may need to brighten it for a regular hanging location or it might get lost.

Nice, this is very elegant. I'm going to have to get out and look for these.
