The flowers are still great down here: I'm very glad I came. When i came over the pass form New Mexico to Clifton, by jaw dropped as the views opened up. You can easily see poppy patches fifteen miles away. Still snow on the Pinalenos too, a nice touch. This is a ways outside Safford on the Black Hills Backcountry byway. Hope some others make it down!

A real nice combination of cacti, flowers and rugged desert terrain. Well seen!

Really nice, Jackson. I like how perfected the comp is, with the ocotillo where it is, and the prominent cacti in front of the shadowed hillside, then leading to the peak in the distance. I'd lobby for more punch by way of a contrast boost, other than that it's good to go.

I like the comp as well, and I like how the flowers show the desert can be a beautiful and rugged place at the same time.

Very nice composition. The textures range from delicate to rugged.

I like the comp too. I might go for very slightly bringing the sky down just to emphasize the foreground, but this is nice as is too.

That is a beauty. As with the others, I love the comp on this. Now if only those dang poppies would open up during the golden hours!!

Thanks all! I should probably have pointed out that this was a quick laptop edit. Now that I'm home, some dodging and burning and contrast work definitely seems in order.

I shot some more yesterday evening, but the bloom does seem to be fading. Still, I think there should be some very good patches to be found for at least a couple more days.
