Red Grouse
An image I took back in Feb, meant to post but didn't for some reason.

Anyway, taken in North Yorkshire during a trip with Steve K, this female was lurking in the BG while her mate was showing how brave he was by walking up to the car.

MkIII + 500 f4
Tv( Shutter Speed ) 1/500
Av( Aperture Value ) 4.5
ISO Speed 400

Sweet

I think it's a female Graham, the male was wandering around elsewhere. :wavey:

BTW The Curlews are becoming more visible, but a lot of heather has been burnt back, not many Grouse the other week :frown:

Nice environment shot.
I wonder if they think they are well hidden when bunkering down like this

Lovely shot and composition Graham :toast:

The muted colours really suit the image :toast:

There looks to be a bit of a halo around the head and beak

Classic RG image Graham. Bird/vegetation works well.

Cheers,
Chris
