Slip of the tongue
Last one!

Not quite what I was after as the sun was on the wrong side, however...

Don't know what you were after, but the end result is still quite stunning for colour, detail and lighting.

Hi Phil, I was after lighting up the eye more, however the beak & feathers probably would have been blown then. Ideally I should have been more to the left, shooting diagonally to the right with the light behind me, but as this is wild, sadly I had no control.

Like it a lot.
Good detailed head shot of a bird that's never too easy to get close to :toast:

I really like this, the back lighting has worked well for you. A simple, but very effective, shot.

Stephen

What a superb failure from being wrong footed position wise, its produced a great result. This species can be so difficult in order to get within range. They have great hearing which they use to advantage. I seem to finish up with plenty of Heron butts in flight.

Looks good to me Steve, the shadows aren't too dark and they do make the backlit bill standout well. excellent.

I think you got it spot on. The back lighting has worked very well. Great the way its tongue is sticking out!
