Snug
An old image, just playing with using Quad tones to soften the normal B/W conversion.

A super image Steve.
Only nit for me is composition. Instead of being drawn to the eye right away I find I'm looking at the tuft of feathers on the back of its head and my eye sits there more easily than it does on the subjects' eye

Very nice Steve. It looks good to me cropped from the left as well, just so that tuft is gone. I'd settle for it either way.

Stephen, very effective both composition and processing. :toast:

I like it Steve.Would it have worked even better if it was reversed horizontally? We read left to right and would then follow the slope of the back and wing up to the eye in a more natural progression.Maybe, maybe not

Hi Phil, I know where you are coming from and in theory, working right to left would be more 'correct', looking into the page, opposed to out. However as it was shot this way I have got so used to it, I feel it tends to sit better this way.

Sometimes correctness goes out the window and you have to just go with gut feeling, right or wrong. :wavey:

Stunning detail. Like it a lot Steve. Have no idea what quad tones are but it works very well. :wavey:

I like this a lot, although now it has been suggested it is even better cropped from the left.

Works fine for me on all counts, even in B&W. I'd love to see a colour version.
