This Godwit has been about at a local patch for a few days. It's not a usual visitor so it was nice to spend some time in its presence admiring its plumage in the long, deep morning rays. I spend a good hour with it and despite coming very close, it seemed unperturbed.
I reckon it was my radar hat that kept it calm by disguising me as a rabbit.
This morning, nature provided me with an overwhelming feeling of calm and healing - most of all when I put the camera aside. Refreshed and recharged with a lust for life. Who needs retail therapy?

Nice pose with the lifting leg but would just like to see the light that's on the back of the bird extended on to the front as well.
Nice mood and atmosphere to this. I would like to see this with less of the dark OOF mud at the bottom, which I don't think adds anything to the image, and perhaps a bit more of the attractively-coloured water at the top. Just the way I think I would have tried to compose it.
I'm afraid this one doesn't work at all foe me Chris. It's possible you could make some improvements to the detail, colour and comp etc and no doubt as a record of what you saw it works. But..not as a stand alone image.
