Playing with textures
Every now an then I like to play with textue overlays for artistic effect. Basiclly you drag the texture over your original image and play with opacity and blending modes until you get something you like. You can erase the texture from areas you dont want it part of or lasso the area and add a slight gaussian blue to keep the color of the texture. Purists might not like the treatment, but I do.
Thanks for looking.......Joe Rogers

Nice Joe, this really has a painterly feel to it. Good job with the effect.

I like it Joe! I would not consider myself a purist though. The important thing is the actual photography is technically correct. Adding to it is, to each their own. I often laugh at the whole idea of a purist. If we were all purist, literally, photography would be pretty boring. Look at Ansel Adams...His images were always "made" in the darkroom. He would take a well exposed image and work total magic dodging and burning...Adding to an image, no matter how, is a matter of personal preference. It's what sets you apart.

That's a really cool effect and it works well here. The only thing I might change is maybe lower the amount of texture in the sky it seems a little overpowering there.
