Toad in the hole
I found mating toads everywhere on a recent walk. This pair was on the side of a partly tarmaced, disused lane. I was lying flat out on the road surface while photographing them. It's a pity there are only three of the four eyes which are sharp, could have done with more DOF.

Canon EOS 40D
100-400mm lens at 400mm hand held
1/320 sec
f8
ISO 400

Slight sharpening and adjustment in CS2

Great pov, At this size all four eyes look pretty sharp to me - any more dof and you may have lost the nice out of focus background? Nice behavioural shot.

Fine behavior shot for me too
a bit too centered for my taste

Yes an excellent POV depicting typical toad behavior at this time of year. The centrality of the subjects works fine for me.

Nice one Andy. Lovely detail and nice to get them on land. Agree with Bertl a little more room on the left.
