My wife has a 7D and I'm going to purchase one. I know there has been some discussion on software that works well with the 7D. Any replies will be appreciated!

Neat Image seems to be a very popular NR application. You can create profiles for different cameras or even download profiles. What I like about it is its ability to clean out the noise without really harming the quality of the photo. Another one I like is the NR in Adobe Lightroom. I am testing out the beta for Lightroom 3. With the 1st beta version I found the NR to be quite useless and ineffective. They completely improved on it in in the beta 2 version and so far, IMO, it is the best NR I have ever used. I like it even more than the Neat Image because of its nondestructive approach to noise reduction. The quality & sharpness of the photo are untouched while the noise is removed, and you can control how much noise to be removed. Another application you may want to look into is Noise Ninja. Both Noise Ninja & Neat Image come as stand alone apps or plug-ins for Photoshop, Lightroom, and Aperture.

I am very happy with the Imagenomic NR Photoshop plug-in. It also comes in a standalone. version. I am tempted to buy the DxO Optics Pro, which has many more features and is getting great reviews, but it's a bit expensive.

I've been using Neat Image with both CS3 and CS4. It's worked admirably with both. I've really liked the way it works with the 7D. I'm usually able to apply it to the entire image, so I don't have to select just the bg for noise reduction. See my post on Saturday (4/10) for the kind of results you can get. :toast:

I use Noise Ninja, and like it a lot. It's easy to use, and does a great job eliminating noise. I've used it on my 5D files, as well as files from the 5D II, it works perfectly on both. I will say the 5D II files are already so clean, but for large prints I will eliminate any bit of noise.
