Raptor Of A different Kind
Hi Here Is another Kingisher from last september. One of my top five Kingfisher pictures.
Canon 1d mk3
canon 500mm L is
In a chair hide at 6 meters
The perch was doctored as it ended with a scruffy white bit so i cloned it off, as you can see not very good at PS.

A stunningly detailed shot but the perch comes to an abrupt end as though you've cloned something out..? But as for the main subject i like everything about it, light colour and that fish eye is all superb.

Have been back to my site for the past 2 weeks now, and haven't managed anything close to this so far this year. Cracking, crisp shot, but agree re the branch - just doesn't look right which is a shame ?

That's a belter. Only nit covered.

its a cracking shot but I noticed the perch first which is fine except the end looks a little strange

The Kingfisher is lovely and so is that background. But the cloning does detract, probably more so than the original end would have.

Sorry Dale, feel the same, it almost looks 'cut-out' as the line around is all too clean and the BG is so perfect, wonder if it's due to NR making it so smooth?

Hi Dale, The subject is superb as is the BKGR. It is certainly worth revisiting the cloning in some way.

Cheers

Hi Dale,

Another beauty! The bird and bg are super, but that cloned bit of perch does stand out.

Cheers,

Lewis.

The Kingfisher and fish are superb, not so the perch. The perch that she is on doesn't appear to match the bit of perch behind her either.Has something gone on there as well?

Great shot. Agree about the cloning, but I can not do it any better, so I keep my mouth shut. :)

I agree about the distraction coursed by the abrupt ending of the branch but it’s a fine capture in its own right. The lighting and tonal range is superb, get the perch in its feet on a par with the perch in the beak and it’s perfect. A slight distraction to a fine shot.

Nit covered but I'm sure most here would be pleased to have this shot on file. Well done.

Cheers,
