Tip toes
Only a sparrow but they are real characters, always available to have their pictures taken, though far less of them now that before the last winter. I counted over 100 in my garden last year, now less than 30.

1Dmk 3, 600mm plus 1.4, ISO 1250, 1/4000@f/8, tripod.

Bob, nice capture of one of these entertaining birds, quite literally on his tip toes I see.

Nicely done. Looks a bit noisy, but easily remedied with a pass through Noise Ninja or similar.

Not sure Bob if its just 'Noise' Bob that makes it 'ping', or that perhaps its a tad too much USM & the high ISO?

Hi Bob,

Great capture, just over sharpened a bit IMO. Easily reprocessed though!

Cheers,

Lewis.

One of the best sparrow images I've seen IMHO. Really excellent. Only counted two in my garden so far this year. :frown:

Steve, I must agree with you on the noise it is I’m sure the result of the high ISO and slight under exposed raw. I have tried different ways of processing the shot but all with the same result .Perversely it looks better, sharper before I reduced it and viewed it full screen. I did post as I liked the pose, sham about my processing.

A very characterful and well seen image. Always nice to see a different take on a 'common' species.

Cheers,
Chris
