A classic bird on a stick image.
I am still cementing my relationship with the Canon 1D MK4. Consequently, I have spent a lot of time recently photographing images similar to those I have photographed with the MK3 in the past . I am trying to form comparisons and tune the custom settings accordingly.
Here is a Bullfinch taken last week in the early evening.
Canon 1DMK4, 500mm, f6.3 1/1600, ISO400.
C&C Welcome
Cheers

Hi Austin,
Superb colour brought out by the evening sun! I love Bullfinches, but have never got round to photographing them. It looks a tiny bit dark on my screen and perhaps could have been positioned slightly higher in the frame, but its still a very nice bold shot. Hope you enjoy the new camera.
Cheers,
Lewis.

Lovely bold colours and nice catchlight. You need to find a more photogenic stick though.

I agree with Phil on this one. Nice oof bg by the way
Yep, it's a bird and it's on a stick. Not a particularly attractive stick as has been said. Good detail on the bird and a nice diffused background but a little central for my tastes.
